GauciBot and Gauci Site Audit

Effective 8 October 2026 · Version 1.0

What GauciBot is, why it may visit a website, how it behaves, and how to control or stop it.

1. What GauciBot is

GauciBot is the crawler used by Gauci Site Audit, a website health check offered by Gauci (gauci.in), operated by INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED. It identifies itself with the user agent "GauciBot/1.0 (+https://indoemail.in/legal/gauci-site-audit)".

2. When it visits

GauciBot visits a website when a Gauci user enters its domain and starts an audit. Anyone can audit the public pages of any website, the way search engines and SEO tools read them; no verification is needed. Owners who prove that they control a site — with a DNS TXT record (gauci-verify=…) or a file named gauci-verify.txt on the site — can have up to 500 pages read per audit instead of 50.

GauciBot reads only what any visitor can see without signing in, and only when someone asks for an audit; it does not crawl the web on its own.

3. How it behaves

4. What it checks

Broken pages and links, redirects and redirect chains, page titles (missing, too short, too long, duplicated) and descriptions, headings, canonical tags, language, mobile viewport, HTTPS and mixed content, missing image text, structured data, robots.txt and sitemap.xml, slow or very large pages, and pages marked noindex. Each problem is shown in one of six areas — Crawlability, HTTPS, Site performance, On-page SEO, Markup and Mobile — as an Error, Warning or Notice, with a plain explanation of how to fix it.

Results belong to the Gauci user who asked for the audit, can be exported as CSV and can be deleted by them at any time. They are never published or shared with anyone else.

5. Stopping it

Add "User-agent: GauciBot" followed by "Disallow: /" to your robots.txt and GauciBot will not read any page of your site. Removing a verification record limits audits of your site back to 50 pages. To report a problem, open Help & support in Gauci.
