Who we are

Gauci is a product of INDO CHATS PRIVATE LIMITED, 168, GT Rd, near Aloka Cinema, Shibpur, Howrah, West Bengal 711102, India. We are the data fiduciary for your Gauci account under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The full legal text is in the Gauci Privacy Policy; this page explains it simply.

What we collect, and why

• Account: your name, sign-in email or Gauci ID, mobile number, password (stored only as a hash), passkeys and two-step settings — to run your account and keep it safe.
• Activity: when you sign in, post, send messages and use features, with timestamps, sender and recipient of Gauci messages and their size — to deliver the service, stop abuse and fix problems.
• Content you create: posts, images, articles, websites, listings, forms and messages, including attachments — only to store, show and deliver them as you ask.
• Contacts you add: people you message on Gauci, form respondents and enquiries — only to deliver your messages and show your lists.
• Device information: operating system, browser, app version, language and a device identifier for sign-in — to keep you signed in safely and show Gauci in your language.
• Usage information: searches inside Gauci, clicks on Gauci features and error reports — measured on our own servers only, to improve Gauci. We use no outside analytics.
• Location: an approximate country or city worked out from your internet address — to show prices in your currency, follow local law and spot suspicious sign-ins. We do not collect precise location.
• Payment information: billing name, GSTIN, plan and transaction records when paid plans open. Card and UPI details are handled by the payment provider; Gauci does not store card numbers.
• Seller verification (KYC): legal name, PAN, GSTIN, address, mobile and an identity document — only if you choose to sell. Stored encrypted and seen only by our verification team.
• Connected networks: access tokens and keys for the social networks and sites you connect — stored encrypted, used only to do what you schedule.

What we never do

• Sell, rent or trade personal data.
• Show advertising based on your data, or let advertisers track you on Gauci.
• Read your private messages or content except to deliver them, when you ask us for help, or when the law requires.
• Use your content to train AI models.

AI features

When you use AI writing (AutoSEO, Sites, Lily), your text is sent for that one request to Amazon Bedrock in the Mumbai region. It is not stored by the model provider and is not used to train models.

How long we keep data

• Account data: while your account is open, then deleted within 30 days of closing it (you can cancel during those 30 days by signing in).
• Activity and security logs: up to 180 days, longer only when the law or an investigation requires.
• KYC records: as long as you sell on Gauci and then for the period required by law (generally 5 years for financial and tax records).
• Backups: overwritten within 35 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct, download and delete your data, withdraw consent, nominate a person to act for you, and complain to our Grievance Officer and then to the Data Protection Board of India. Use Settings or write to privacy@gauci.in.

Children

Gauci is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. See For parents.
