Open about how we act.

How we respond to legal requests, remove content, verify sellers and handle grievances — with numbers that update by themselves.

Government and legal requests

Indian authorities can ask Gauci for user data or to block content under the Information Technology Act, 2000 (sections 69, 69A and 79), the IT Rules, 2021 and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. Requests from outside India must come through Indian legal channels such as a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty.

  • We check every request is lawful, specific and from an authorised officer, and push back on requests that are too broad.
  • We disclose only the data the request needs.
  • We tell the user unless the law or the order forbids it.
  • We send no data to anyone without a legal basis, and never sell data.
  • Requests received, accepted and refused are counted and published every half year (January–June and July–December). None have been published yet; the first report covers the period to 31 December 2026 and will be published by 31 January 2027.

Grievances

Our Grievance Officer, Salena, acknowledges every grievance within 24 hours and resolves it within 15 days. Write to grievance@gauci.in or open a Support Center case with the category Grievance. If you are not satisfied, you can appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee set up by the Government of India (gac.gov.in).

Seller verification

Sellers on Gauci Gigs and Gauci Domain Market complete KYC before they can sell. Documents are encrypted and reviewed by our verification team; approved sellers get a Verified badge, and rejected sellers are told why.
